About Olivia
I am a personal tutor who will work one on one to ensure that whether you're learning how to write an essay, how to play the saxophone, or taking voice lessons, you will get quality. I personally adore the arts from music to literature. I have been playing the clarinet for 5 years, the saxophone for 4, and the guitar for roughly 2. I have earned many awards for my musical performances and works of literature and speech, including state and national wide awards in All State, OCC, Aurora Poetry Book, and many more competitions. I would love to share what I've learned with you.
I got started teaching by competing to become my the leader of the section of saxophones in my band, helping new people to learn the instrument, reading music, and teaching how to improve on the instrument they already knew.
I have been working with bands and music for over 5 years now. I initially started in my high school band and then moved on to theatre work and vocal work. I have also been the assistant to my former band director for 2 years, helping to guide and direct the band.

My typical process is to have an initial message with the student, then a brief chat over zoom, FaceTime, etc. To get a feel for their personality and the way they will learn best. We will then discuss the goal they would like to accomplish. After that, I create a personalized lesson, or lessons, for my student.
I have worked with students ranging from ages 12-30.
The advice I would give you is to make sure your teacher can accommodate to your needs, learning pace, and learning type!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about how you learn best. Ask yourself questions like: Will I be able to learn better in person? Do I learn better in a one-on-one setting or in a group? What am I looking to accomplish with these lessons?
