About Tom

I love music and my goal is to INSPIRE you to continue to develop your love for music as well as your desire to get better at you instrument.

I've played music since before I could even read. After 12 years of piano lessons, I picked up violin, drums, and guitar, all of which I've either played in bands, recordings, or both.

During school I participated in the usual concerts and contests, accompanying many for their solos, as well as being named to the Ohio Regional Orchestra twice (on violin).

I played drums in churches for about 10 years, as well as on recordings (such as (concealed information) and played guitar starting in college.

My main instrument is keyboards, and have played in churches and several bands in metro Atlanta (120 East, Martin's Landing Band, Georgia Back Porch Band, Rockin' Train, Clapton Comes Alive) - and even "played" keyboards as part of Kenny Roger's band for the Clint Eastwood film "Richard Jewell."

My teachers inspired me and I love passing that along to my students. I love when I hear them say, "you really make me want to go home right now and practice."

I decided that I needed to invest in the next generation of music lovers.

Piano - 12 years of lessons, over 50 years experience, numerous bands, some recordings

Violin - 1 year of formal lessons, about 30 years experience

Guitar - about 30 years experience, mostly acoustic guitar

Drums - about 40 years experience, including several years playing for various churches and bands

About the lesson

I first get to know them a little, and in the process get an idea of

- what playing level they're at, including ability to read music

- what their goals are for the lessons

- what kind of pace they want to go

I would look for someone who inspires you to do pursue your instrument. Any teacher can convey the basics, but not every teacher can inspire you to love music and want to pursue excellence.
