If a person has the drive with an open mind and heart they will be an artist . i have seen good and bad teachers however right notes she is not a teacher she is an artist that guids you to be better than the rest .

I highly recommend Jules for musical lessons. I presently take Ukulele lessons from her. I am 76 years old and have a limited musical background. She has a sense of humor, and is a positive instructor. I am learning slowly, but am having fun doing it.

Working with RNM was a blast. Learning how to read, understand and actually play music for the first time was hard but Jules made me feel comfortable and provided an excellent environment to learn and grow. Her approach to teaching is unique and delightful. I had many moments of success and when I was challenged she would encourage me to stay the course giving me awesome tools and tips to take home and practice. I took guitar and uke lessons from Jules and could not have asked for a better teacher. She was patient and kind, and lessons were fun, not stressful. I met Jules Hamland 2 years ago in Palm Springs when I enrolled for vocal class and acoustic guitar at a local music school and she changed my life. When I started the class I just wanted to know how to sing and play some musics but she took me beyond that to a point where I wanted to learn beyond only technical play, she taught me to love music and want to learn everyday more. Each class is so exciting because she goes deeper in the matter and makes it more clear and interesting each step. Later she moved to another state and I was so devastated to lose her as a teacher, But then I decided to take lessons in Skype and the results is just amazing. I understood that no matter how far she will be I can still learn a lot from her. I very recommend her lessons because she is really good in what she does. I trully recommend. Her knowledge is honestly outstanding and you will feel it after few classes. So give a try, you will never regret.

Jules is beyond fantastic! Her versatility is amazing. Working with both my eight year-old daughter and twelve year-old son, Jules could shift from teaching voice, to playing guitar, to instructing on the piano or harmonica. She is very adept at teaching to the age and speed of the pupil and goes above and beyond in injecting music theory as well as personal anecdotes into her lessons. If you're serious about learning to play an instrument or singing, Jules will get you to whatever level it is you desire!

I learned under Jules for almost five years, and out of all the teachers I've ever had, whether inside or out of school, she has been one of the most awesome, helpful, and friendly instructors I've ever had the pleasure of being taught under. She taught me how to play the guitar, piano, ukulele, and harmonica from scratch. She helped me master many songs, and showed me certain tricks for memorizing notes. She also taught me many other things besides songs, specifically scales, warm-ups, riffs, strumming patterns, how to read music, how to play in and stick to tempo, and, most importantly, how to enjoy and put all of your soul into what you're playing; this leads me into my final point: inspiration. A truly great teacher inspires their students to go out and pursue, completely voluntarily, what they've been taught that they've enjoyed. Before I met Jules, I knew NOTHING about music, and had absolutely zero interest in music. Keep in mind, I was younger back then (fourth grade), and when every Monday came around, I would sigh and say to myself, "Here she comes again..." Overtime, as I somehow found my way through middle school, she built up my passion for music, and before I knew it, I LOVED whenever I would have a lesson with her. And after those five years, I find myself signing up for AP Music Theory at my high school, well-versed in the realm of music, and super excited to learn more and possibly compose. And I know that the only reason I've continued with music and now actively YEARN to pursue and play it is because of Jules' teachings, and friendship. I cannot recommend her music lessons enough. They are unlike any other kind of lessons you will ever find on this planet.

I dont even know where to start with Jules. Hmmm well, I first began taking voice lessons with her at the age of 12, and later on continued to take guitar lessons with her. And you see, she wasn't just amazing because she was wildly talented, patient, kind, and focused, but what i learned under the care of Jules Hamland went far beyond that of music. She filled lessons with laughter scattered throughout her teachings of music and enlightening advice about the world and human nature. If you want your student to build upon their confidence, craft, and acquire a bond with the best mentor possible, Jules is the only person up to the task you could ever want or need. All I'm saying is that 6 years later and states apart, Jules is still the best teacher, mentor, and friend I have ever had.
