About Jon

I have been teaching since 1988, I have taught 1000's of students. Some have go on to have music careers of their our. I use specialized software to teach with, so the learning continues outside of the lesson.

I love teaching all ages and all styles!

Whether you have a young son who wants to try out music lessons for the first time, or are a high school student preparing for a music major in college, I personalize lessons to accomplish your dreams. This ensures that YOU get to choose what your goals are, and meet them in a way that works best for you.

We teach a wide range of musical styles, from classical to rock, sacred to modern pop music

3. l am friendly, patient, and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level. My goal is make music fun. Music is my passion, and I love sharing it with you. I will listen carefully to you and what you want to achieve, and then help you develop a plan to meet your goals. I work with a wide array of youth and adult students.

4. Fight boredom!

Music lessons are taught in an innovative and funway to keep students learning and growing, whether you are a young child or an adult. I use various types of media to spark creativity and keep lessons interesting as you learn your instrument.

5. Learning to play an instrument can help with schoolwork skills

Patiently I work with students to develop good practice skills on their instruments that can also help boost grades in school. Learning to play an instrument has been shown to help develop spatial intelligence in children. Our students learn skills that help improve focus, listening, and communication.

6. Flexible, open lesson schedule

We offer a wide range of lesson times, which makes our music studio ideal for school kids, homeschoolers, and busy adults. You can choose from afternoon, or evening lessons. I teach six days a week; weekdays as late as 10:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00 – 2:00pm.

7. Learn foundational skills

We incorporate music theory, ear training, improvisation, and sight reading into your music lessons, right along with your new performance skills.

Back in 1988, I lived in a small town and at the time I was the only guy around who seem to like to play rock guitar. People started asking me to show them what I do. So I started and pretty much continued to teach ever since. I taught while in college and on tour. Back in 1991, I had my first remote student via the USPS mail.

I currently have students from Baltimore and San Francisco.

I have been teaching since 1988. I have taught 1000's of students. Several students who have gone on to successful careers in music. I continue to learn everyday and improve myself. This is a life long journey for me.

About the lesson

Varied by student and their needs.

Youngest was 3 to the oldest at 92. We have worked with all kind of students from the absolute beginner to advanced pro-players. I reccomend guitar students start at the age of 9 yrs.

Etc..

I do live streams for just my students. These are alot of fun. It is hard to get both coasts on at the same time.

A couple of things, what kind of music makes you happy? Where do you want to go with your musical skills? (example: play for friends, play professionally, to get in a band, to study music in college..etc..etc)

30 min lessons are $25.00 each.
1 hour lessons are $45.00 each.

I bill in blocks of 4 lessons. Once your lessons has been taken, I will rebill you.

I do offer discounts for prepaid lessons in packs of 12 or 24.
