Music has always been a huge part of me. Growing up, I played the piano for a couple of years, and then in 5th grade through high school I played percussion, primarily xylophone and bells. I attempted to continue playing in college, but it didn’t quite work out and I really didn’t have the time to dedicate.

I had really missed playing music, so this past summer I decided to start learning how to play the acoustic guitar. It was something I had always wanted to do, but never really had time to start.

As “Facebook fate” would have it, I found an amazing local guitar instructor. Shout out to the one and only, Colin Ward!

Colin is an extremely talented musician and wonderful teacher! As an absolute beginner, he is so patient with me and puts up with my uncoordinated self while I continually laugh at myself struggling to play chords and make it look (and sound) like I know what I’m doing. HAHA!

All kidding aside, I absolutely enjoy my time with Colin every session. Each lesson is tailored to whatever I wish to work on. And even when I don’t get the chance to practice much during the week, we always have fun learning something and jamming out.

If you or anyone you know, kids or adults, wants to learn guitar (or maybe looking for a couple of lessons to "step up their game”), I **HIGHLY** recommend Colin Ward!!

Everything, and not an exaggeration. I’m relatively new to guitar despite playing drums my whole life, and i came with the decision to play in p4 instead of alternate tuning. Colin was not only accommodating, he even showed enthusiasm for stepping out of his own comfort zone; a trait desirable in musicians.

Colin breaks down concepts ive struggled with in the past into ways that are incredibly easy to understand and digest. Hes a wealth of knowledge and seeks to pass on everything he knows. You’d be hard pressed to find another teacher comparable to Colin, let alone at the price he offers lessons. Teachers in music can make or break the desire for the student to continue learning, and with this in mind i really cant recommend colin enough!
