About Carolyn

We are a harp studio that provides music education and offer harps and accessories for rent or for purchase. Also provide exceptional service to meet your music needs.

Here at Pacific Harps, we take pride in providing the best in music education. From learning how to perform the harp, to the maintenance, purchase and rental options. We strive to take care of all of your needs.

"Music is to be an expression of Joy." We provide that joy on a couple of levels. We offer both individual and group lessons, from age 4 to 85. If you can't make it to our studio or just want to practice from home, we provide lessons via skype.

Our Story

World renown harpist and founder Carolyn Sykes has been performing and teaching music for over 30 years. She co-founded the Parkville children's music school in her native home of Melbourne Australia. During that time Carolyn has been performing all over the world from here in the U.S. to Europe and her native Australia. With her education in music from University of Arizona and a Master of Arts from the California Institute of the Arts, she then started Pacific Harps in Los Angeles to promote the next generation of harpists and music educators. Pacific Harps is also a dealership, selling and renting harps, representing Camac Harps which are made in France. Pacific Harps also carries a range of new and used harps.

many students have gone onto college level music both as majors and minors. All have received merit scholarships at college level.

About the lesson

I have an email conversation, send information about rates and the studio policies, harp rental or purchase options. Then set up a time to have them come over to my studio, take a tour, have an introductory lesson and pick up a harp to take home.
