About Azizi

Classrooms were never my thing, I learn from experience. From attending and winning Semi-Finals in the international poetry competition "Brave New Voices", to teaching myself C# and Unity to make the world's first platforming game with an African American protagonist.

By learning and meeting so many new people in my quest I have opened a plethora of doors for myself. I hope to help my students find their passions and journeys through project-based learning.

I enjoy the process of creation, often one feels like a world of imagination is crammed inside your head trying to claw its way out. I spent many hours daydreaming in the past, however now I can take those wondering thoughts and magnify them into creation.

After working on my craft for years I began college hoping to learn even more. However, I quickly learned that my upperclassmen and peers were learning the same things I'd learned years prior online. I thought about how difficult some of the concepts were when I started, I wished there was someone who could help teach me the ropes. I saw this opportunity and decided to become the change I wanted to see.

I have worked for several years in the Unity game engine, Pixel Art, and C# coding language.

I have also won a multitude of local and an international poetry event "Brave New Voices."

About the lesson

When starting a lesson with a student we first state a goal, if that goal is to finish an entire game or gain the confidence to do slam poetry on stage. No goal is too big or too small. We will say how long we want to work until the goal is actualized and what we're willing to give to get to the goal.

Next, we begin to work on the student's schedules to their desired outcome.

THIS WILL NOT BE YOUR AVERAGE CLASSROOM SETTING. While I will make a syllabus depending on you and your skill lt is likely to change based on where the project is going.

I have worked with middle school students up to Millenials. My teaching style shines the brightest with passionate students who are interested in what they're learning, age doesn't matter.

I'd tell a student to find someone who won't give them all the answers, but someone who will help them find any answer. The most important skill to have in the world today is problem-solving.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. Have I done my best to solve this problem?

2. That's it! There are no dumb questions, if you've done your best and are still struggling ask away! That's what teachers are for. (The only reason I'd ever not "give" a student the answer is that I believe problem-solving is one of the most important skills in a work environment)

Details

I charge my students 50$ an hour up to 6 hours a week. However, a student can reach me anytime at my Discord which I will provide after/during the first lesson. Here I can and will provide any help, resources, or critique they request. (This time will not be charged as long as the student values my own and their own time, learning is the most important part in this relationship) Therefore, by using your time wisely you can turn 50$ an hour to 20$ an hour, if you're passionate and eager to learn I will match your energy.
