About Joel
My goal is to create a community of performers who can develop their talents in a supportive, safe environment of trust, support, growth, and freedom. I aim to help students by providing the tools and techniques needed to develop their artistic voice, both individually and within an ensemble.
Kenny Ausubel once said "Each of us has a spark of life inside us, and our highest endeavor ought to be to set off that spark in one another,"
I enjoy finding that spark through laughter.
Joel Goodman teaches improv comedy wherever and whenever he can, as long as there are students eager to learn. He has been an ensemble member of many improv companies (including The Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater, The L.A. Comedy Connection and The Second City). Joel is also a veteran of the small screen, having appeared in over thirty national and regional television commercials- usually typecast as the helpless dad. Products and companies include Rolaids, 1-800 Contacts, Progressive Insurance, Walgreens, GoDaddy.com, Schlage Link, Walt Disney World, ESPN, and Dannon Oikos. He was an original cast member of “Talk Fight” with Kurt Long and performed in Reefer Madness: Live Movie Dubbing with the L.A. Comedy Connection Theater. Joel currently resides in Newbury Park, California and is currently looking for recommendations on where to get really good ice cream. He enjoys playing a mean game of pinball and doesn’t mind being paid in quarters!

Details
Lessons are typically $25 per person per class. Prices are negotiable.
Beginner classes are typically three hours long, once a week for 8 weeks, but can be customized to your liking from just one session to an ongoing class.
A detailed syllabus which includes The Rules for Improv Guidelines and an Explanation of Games & Warm Ups will be provided.
