[About Me:]

Hello, my name is Joy. I will be your Japanese teacher :) I am 19 and currently a rising sophomore at a University in Massachusetts. I was born in New York but was rinsed in Japan until 2013. It's has been about 7 years of living in the United States.

[My Lessons & Teaching style]

Conversation/Speaking practice: We will be...

・Having an everyday casual conversation.

・Talking about any topics of your choice.

・Analyzing part of a movie or video clips.

・Using Flashcards and memorizing words.

・Working on pronunciation skills.

*I also consider "your way" of learning :))

Every 3 classes, students will create a 5-pages presentation on what they have learned so far. (This might change according to the levels of proficiency and their preferred homework styles.

(I will be teaching in both English and Japanese.)

I believe that the experience here would be my first perfect opportunity to grow even more academically and professionally with you :) Also, as a person who is studying a language other than my native language (currently studying English and Korean), I understand the struggles of learning the language itself and getting used to something new.

Before starting my career here on Lesson.com, I had the opportunity to teach many of my family and friends who are also interested in Japanese language and culture. I am currently living with my cousins who are also learning Japanese at their high school/college and I often help them with their homework and communicate with them in Japanese. If you are taking Japanese courses elsewhere, I can also help you with your homework as well. I hope I can enhance your Japanese communication skills.

I am a friendly Japanese tutor who will practice having informal Japanese conversations and speaking like a native person with you.

I am NOT a professional/qualified teacher. (a beginning teacher/tutor :)

I will teach you stuff that you wouldn't learn in a textbook or at a school like a slang as well.

About the lesson

[First Day]🤓📚

Get-to-know-each-other day:

🍙Students will be asked to introduce themselves in Japanese.

🍙The teacher will ask some questions in Japanese based on the student's introduction twice.

🍙The teacher will help you answer and correct their mistakes if they have any. (🌟Taking notes while having a conversation is a must.)

🍙Q&A session on the student's preferred study style and homework style.
