About Christopher

Hello! I am an M.A. student in Classics at Washington University in St. Louis. My expertise is in Latin and Greek, but I have also tutored students in French and in high-school STEM subjects. As an undergraduate at Fordham University, I also provided volunteer tutoring to children with special needs. Teaching is a passion for me, and I enjoy helping students meet and exceed their academic goals. Currently accepting students in Latin, Greek, and French.

I started in high school as a tutor of STEM subjects. I also helped students in crafting essays for college applications.

I am an M.A. student in Classics at Washington University in St. Louis. I have been a tutor on and off since high school and have experience working with kids and teenagers between the ages of 7 and 18.

About the lesson

I prefer to have a phone call with students and/or parents before starting a tutoring relationship. This helps me to determine students' goals and needs. In tutoring Latin and Greek, it is also helpful for me to find out what textbooks students are using, as pedagogic approaches can vary widely from textbook to textbook. First sessions with students allow me to get a sense for learning styles and skill levels. A follow-up call with parents is often recommended at this point, with occasional calls as needed thereafter to keep up with academic progress and to make sure everyone is on the same page. I pride myself on catering my tutoring style to fit the needs of my students.

I have worked with students ages 7-18. This includes students with special needs.
