About Cindy
I walk students through the problem solving strategies to understand the problem. The answer is not what is important to me. The answer is only their reward. Helping a student understand how they arrived at the correct answer is my focus. When the student understands the problem, that is my reward!!!
Mathematics is exciting to me. Helping young people is my passion. So, by teaching, I get to work with my two very favorite things.
I attended the University of Houston/Clear Lake and received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. I began teaching at a high school and loved working with students and teaching math. I knew from the beginning that was the profession for me.
I have taught various levels of math in both junior high and high school for 32 years.

First, I try to understand the student's needs, concerns, and problem areas. I then use inquiry-based questioning to lead the students to the correct answer or understanding. I make sure the students understand the appropriate steps needed to solve a problem before moving on to the next level or problem.
I have worked with all levels of students in both junior high and high school.
Find someone that makes you comfortable, focuses on your strengths, but challenges you to learn at the very highest level!!
I recently retired after teaching for 32 years, and that has given me the opportunity to travel and explore both in and outside of the United States. I love waterfalls and finding them while traveling in the National Parks in the U.S. have created some of my fondest memories.
