About Anshuman

I recently graduated from Cornell Unviersity, with a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering and a Master's in aerospace engineering. I currently work at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in the development of airborne collision avoidance software. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I understand that it can be difficult for students to grasp concepts online, so I'd like to be a guide to help make difficult material easier. I like to tutor high school mathematics, and can also tutor college calculus, multivariable calculus, and differential equations.

I enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts to help them see common problem structures and solve problems more efficiently. There are patterns between the concepts that students struggle with, and I'd like to improve their understanding by explaining material from different perspectives.

I tutored a lot in high school, and carried through into college when I started TA-ing classes immediately after taking them the previous semester. I also got into the habit of taking difficult classes to better understand material from prerequisite classes, so it helped a lot when going back to teach students.

I studied mechanical and aerospace engineering at Cornell Unviersity. Currently, I work at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, developing aircraft collision avoidance software. Most of my courses in college were very math intensive; the software algorithms developed also require most of the mathematics students are exposed to in their final years of high school and early college.

I like to have a meeting with them to discuss what they have trouble with, and what they'd like to get out of the session.

Find a teacher who can adapt to your own learning style. There can be many ways to explain material, but a good teacher will know how you learn best, and will change the way they teach to help you understand with ease.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
You should figure out whether you really need help with the material or not. Often times, if you're a good reader, you can likely pick up the material by just reading a textbook. Sometimes material can be dense. If you're a student that prefers material be taught to them, and don't like self-teaching, then tutoring is the best option.

I charge $60 for a 30 minute session, and $100 for a 1 hour session. If longer lessons are desired, we can discuss at the first meeting.
