My method of working with a new person is first trying to get to know them and understand their area of expertise and areas for which they need to improve. I also know that since I am a teacher, I may not be always right. I take a huge responsibility in understanding another person's way of thinking because their viewpoints are important and vital as well. I will ask the student to read the question aloud or show me the problem, from there I will try to solve the problem myself. Once I have done that, I work alongside the student to problem solve. If the student does not understand, I will explain it using another way, until the student grasps the concept. Videos, games, Quizlet, are all alternative methods I can use to help the student succeed.
