About Shams
I am a dynamic, driven, and dependable first year medical student who previously completed a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering with special interests in signal processing, medical devices, and medical ethics. I am passionate about the clinical implications of design projects at the budding interface between engineering, medicine, and global health. I am an excellent teacher who has mentored high school freshman/sophomores and served as a physics TA at my college.
I love seeing when it "clicks" for students, because I know first-hand how frustrating it can be when you don't have access to resources that are actually willing to spend time with you one one one.
Back in high school, I would tutor my classmates in various math classes. In college, I served as a TA for freshmen engineering physics courses. More recently, I mentor high school underclassmen on career advice, standardized testing, and STEM in general.
Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Currently enrolled full time as a medical student.
