About Tyra
Tutoring kids in need makes me so happy and satisfied to see the student who was struggling on a subject get better at it. I'm always happy to help!
I am a High School senior with honors and AP experience and I have recently spent the entire summer teaching and assisting my younger sister with her 4th Grade coursework!
I enjoy the satisfaction of successfully helping a student with the coursework they struggle with. Being able to be apart of the uplifting and success and another student is very rewarding to not only me but the student.
I started teaching through the school organization I'm in. I did weekly tutoring within that club to fellow high school students and I always helped my younger sister with her homework.
Algebra 1 tutoring for National Honor Society as well as summer teaching for elementary-aged younger sibling.

First, I recognize the problem area of the student and we begin with a small lesson on the subject. Next, I will have the student complete multiple practice sheets while answering any questions the student may have. Lastly, I will have the student complete a mini quiz at the end of the lesson in order to ensure that the student understands the material and I will do additional re-teaching as needed.
