About Christie

Hi, I'm Christie! I graduated cum laude from New York University with a Bachelor's in Chemistry, and a minor in French. While in undergrad, I was premed and have taken all relevant pre-requisite courses for medical school. I am currently a first year Chemistry PhD student at the University of Pittsburgh and intend to begin my MD studies in two years as part of the MD-PhD program.

Having majored in Chemistry and studied for the MCAT for 4.5 months, I have mastered biology, biochemistry, general chemistry, organic chemistry and physics as well as psychology and sociology. In undergrad, I tutored NYU undergraduate students on campus in the disciplines of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biology as they relate to the pre-requisite premed courses offered at New York University. I assisted students in understanding concepts by providing additional practice problems, readings and questions, reviewing practice exam problems as well as assigned homework problems that students struggle with in lecture and laboratory courses. Last summer, I also participated in the Harvard Summer Research Program in Kidney Medicine which further refined my scientific knowledge in STEM courses.

Having learned and studied French from kindergarten, throughout middle and high school, minored in French in college, taught French to kindergarten students, worked at the NYU Institute of French Studies and studied abroad in the French speaking part of Switzerland in Lausanne, I can also help you master French so please reach out and I would love to discuss how I can assist!

No one in my family was pre-med or majored in STEM, so I really had to take the time to learn things from the ground up without much help. If you're likewise struggling with a subject and really need someone to break down the concepts and provide you with lots of examples, go through assignments together or prepare for an upcoming exam, I can definitely help out! Sometimes, with previous tutors I worked with at the start of college, I felt that we covered material too fast or that they assumed that I already had a bunch of knowledge that I didn't or still needed help understanding, so please reach out and I would be very happy to help you methodically as best I can!
