About Amber
Hello! My name is Amber and I am both a Statistician and tutor. In 2017, I graduated with my Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics then I recieved my Master's degree in 2019. Although I have been working as a statistician since 2019, I have been tutoring various subjects since 2016 to a diverse range of students.
I love tutoring and teaching because it allows me to be able to help others. I know how hard it can be to struggle through a topic and how far a little help can go.
I got started teaching while working as a teaching assistant in graduate school.
I have tutored both private and professionally for nearly five years, as well as spent approximately two years as a teaching assistant of various introductory and intermediate university level math and stat classes.

When working with a new student, I always take a few minutes to get to know them. It is important to be able to be able to communicate a student's interests as well as their lerning style in order to help them achieve best results. After getting to know each other a bit, I move on to asking what the student needs help with and go from there.
Over the years, I have worked with a wide variety of students with ages ranging from 8 to 80 and all different types of abilities.
I would advise them to look for someone that they can understand and that they feel comfortable with.
In late summer, I took a whitewater rafting trip for the first time and had a blast!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is important for students to know what types of problems they are working through, that way a teacher or tutor can figure out where that student is and what to help with.
