About Luke

I have a passion for helping students in math (elementary school through high school). I feel great satisfaction seeing the faces of students who finally "get it," so I am very excited to be a tutor.

A list of my tutoring subjects:

Math: Algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus

Biology: All courses through college level

Chemistry: Inorganic and organic chemistry

Physics: Algebra based physics

I can offer in-person or virtual tutoring.

I graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 2012. I took AP calculus and physics, and was in the National Honors Society through which I regularly tutored students who were struggling. I scored a 2160 on my SATs, in the 98th percentile. I graduated from Boston College in 2016 with a B.S. in biology. In college, I took many math and science classes, was a part time tutor, and was a research fellow in a biology lab for 2 years. I then worked in cancer research at Dana-Farber for 4 years. Through my research work, I've become a co-author of 5 peer-review original research papers. I'm currently taking post-baccalaureate classes at Temple University, and I hope to start medical school at Temple in the fall (2021).

I graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 2012. In high school, I was a member of the National Honors Society (NHS). When I took the old SAT (out of 2400), I scored a 2160, which is in the 98th percentile. As a member of NHS, I tutored struggling high school students in all math and science courses available.

Math: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, matrix analysis, calculus

Science: chemistry, biology, physics

I graduated from Boston College in 2016, where I was a research fellow in a cancer biology lab for two years. As a reseach fellow, I published two peer-reviewed papers and finished an honor's senior thesis. In college, I continued working as a math and science tutor for struggling high school students.

I then worked at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a Senior Research Associate, and published several more academic papers.

I hope to attend medical school at Temple University in the fall of 2021. I scored in the 90th percentile on the medical school placement test, the MCAT.

About the lesson

First, I like to do a free consultation over zoom. This allows me to assess the student's needs and come up with a strategy that addresses them. Then, at the student's preference, I can then continue to meet virtually or transition to in-person sessions.

During tutoring sessions, I will test the student's mastery of each topic by administering practice problems. Then, I will give targeted lecturing on each topic that has proven difficult.

I measure my success as a tutor from your success as a student. I am dedicated to working with you to develop new problem-solving strategies and to achieve academic excellence. I look forward to meeting with you, cheers!

My initial virtual consultation is free. I then charge $15 per hour of tutoring, and an additional $10 fee for in-person lessons that require me to travel.
