About NG

If you need to improve your background for college Math you are at the right place. I have taught at different universities in United States college Math courses in all levels since 1998! Currently I am a professor at a private university in Istanbul. I can help you in college Calculus, Algebra and basic Math courses. We determine the pace, level and the content together to satisfy your needs.

I understand now at the age of 45 that life is partly about understanding and "learning". I learn too when I teach something to someone, this being either my 8 year-old son or 16 year-old daughter, or when I lecture a group of university students, or when I give a seminar talk to my collegues at a conference. This incidence of "experiencing" different thoughts, a nice method of finding a solution to a particular problem and sharing this with others is the joy I have. I love being in this state.

I started teaching when I was an undergraduate student. I was tutoring other students in university courses.

I am a Mathematics professor in a private university in Istanbul. I had my PhD in Math from United States in 2006. I have been teaching college Math for more than 20 years now.

About the lesson

We start by talking about your current needs. What do you want to achieve and at what time? Then I try to see your current background. Is your background enough to grasp the material and move forward? We determine the pace, level and content together. Of course, I try to lead the way through my experience more than 20 years in college teaching. Mathematics is learned through constant study and solving problems. You will also realize that it is not that tough to do Math after all!

I worked with all levels of students, from hşgh school to all levels of university Math courses. I have tutored one on one many students so far. Most of them were university students. Besides I am teaching university level courses at the moment.

An instructor should lead the way to a learner. A teacher should understand the level of the student and make the course plan accordingly. Mathematics can be learned by solving problems. I suggest you to see if the instructor has the experience to satisfy all these so that you will have the necessary material for your goals.

One of my students who got accepted from a university in Boston got private Math courses from me. She wanted to have basic background in Math to be able to follow courses there. Now she is in Boston, in Economics program. She wrote me recently, says the Math courses were very useful and she can understand the courses there with no difficulty.
