About Colten
I am very new to the world of tutoring, but I have always enjoyed helping others solve problems that I can help with. I look forward to assisting growth in solving and understanding mathematics within students who may be struggling in their academic endeavors.
For my qualifications: I graduated from Kearney High School in May, 2020 with a 4.2 weighted (3.8 unweighted) GPA. Currently, I'm a 19 year old Pre-Engineering student at the University of Nebraska-Kearney whose passion relies heavily on STEM/Math. I completed Calculus I last semester with an A+ and received A's from all previous math classes.
Although this is a new experience for me (aside from helping friends and family), I will do everything in my power to help you succeed at your own pace.
This will be a new experience for me, but I have always enjoyed learning new things in a school environment, and I especially enjoyed helping others strengthen their own understanding of topics in school.

My approach to a new student would be to know what (math) class they're struggling with and ask what parts they need help with. If they don't know exactly, I'll help work their way up from the starting lessons to the harder lessons to boost their math confidence.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
"How well am I understanding this?" And, "what part am I getting stuck on?" Are some important questions students should ask themselves before asking for needed assistance. Sometimes we overlook small things that can be corrected after looking through it a second time, but other times we struggle on "why" and "how" things are done, which needs a relative and helpful explanation from a teacher.

There is no specific pricing yet, but I want to ensure that the first session is free as a 'test run' for each student to see if my tutoring is helpful. If it is, the tutoring price is "to be determined" for future sessions, at this moment; if it is not, I want the student to have the tutoring/help they need to improve, with no hard feelings.
