About Christian
I am a doctoral candidate studying Bassoon Performance at Michigan State University. I am new to online tutoring but not to teaching. I have been teaching the Bassoon to private students for almost 10 years. Music Theory is my favorite music subject! I am a professional musician who has gained a wealth of knowledge from my diverse background. In between high school and my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, I spent a year abroad in Germany. Leanring the german language has helped me understand english better; I can teach both easily. I help students achieve their goals by listening to them and fostering an envirnment of trust where learning is able to take place. I work well with others and have a wealth of experience supporting and helping people reach their potiental.
I got started teaching when I realzied I have a wealth of knowledge to offer people around me that didnt come so easily to them.

When working with a new student, I like to find out their interests so that I may help relate the material in better terms to them. Our time together can then be more effiecently maximized to produce the best results.
I ahve worked with music students, german students, english students, math students, and high school students looking to prepare for college.
Going through school is difficult for a multitude of reasons. I want students to know you dont need to do it alone. If you feel like you could use some extra help in my area of expertise, you came to the right person!
My 8 year old French Bulldog needed spinal surgery during the pandemic. It was a frightening period that taught me resilence, to be confident in my care taking abilities, compassion, and patience. She is fully healed now and I as I reflect on that time, I am fond of the way I handeled myself and cared for her.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should feel free to communicte their needs to their teachers. Teachers are not parents which makes the job a little easier, however caring for a student and their progress is essential to helping them reach their goals. Students need only ask for what they need from me. I am an excellent listener.
