About Hatice

My personality, patience and sense of humor that I bring to anything I do, along with my knowledge of the subject, whether it be teaching or presenting to a board of C-Level Executives have always made me stand out amongst my colleagues.

The best part of assisting individuals with their areas of challenges is being a part of their growth and seeing that wide smile in their face that says "I got this, it wasn't as difficult as I made it out to be." Those moments are the times that keeps me motivated to find better ways in introducing and or tackling a difficult concept.

Being the eldest in the family, with four other siblings, I have always innately was inclined to be their guide and their teacher to help them in my brothers studies. As I went on to my professional career development that personality to be able to help others succeed in areas of challenge has always lingered with me and to this day continue to be on that path.

When I was in College, I was a Math/Physics and English tutor at the Tutorial Center and after graduation this skillset made me took on roles in technology companies, such as T-Mobile and Microsoft HQ (WW Operations, Financial Ops, xBox Marketing, IT and Surface Groups), where have been responsible for training new comers and managing many projects as a Project Manager to ensure everyone was Go-Ready to use the systems and understand the documentations I have created.

In addition, I expanded my repertoire by obtaining an TESOL/TEFL Certification to be able to extend my reach to individuals who want to learn English as a Second Language, which has been a great pleasure in itself.

About the lesson

When I begin working with a new student, if we haven't done a pre-discussion of what the student's needs are, I typically spend the first 10-minutes to get to know the student, his/her habits and determine the expectations of our tutoring sessions. The goals vary by individual which can either to improve a certain skillset, prepare for an exam(s) or getting ready for Standardized tests such as the SAT/ACT, TOEFL, IELTS etc. After we prepare a roadmap as to how we are going to achieve the student's goals we begin our lessons accordingly based on the timelines we put together.

My student portfolio has encompassed individuals of all ages, from my 5 year old Niece, who has been learning Advanced Math even before learning how to spell, to Middle-High School Students to General Managers of Multinational Corporations. I adapt to every student's needs accordingly and their age group as find it as a learning curve for myself as well. My tutoring sessions are always engaging as encourage relating to worldwide examples and apply the concepts as we go over new or existing material.

For every subject area, regardless of it being Art, Languages, Math, Music, Science, Social Studies it is very important that students find the individual who they are comfortable speaking with as these are one to one lessons and if a student is not comfortable asking questions time is a waste along with the money that is paid. To get the most out of the sessions, aside from being an expert in the subject the personalities definitely need to be aligned for success.

There are one too many memories I can list here, however the most recent event I am fond of is my 9-month old adopted kitten running out from wherever he is hiding to understand the command of "Where is your toy?" as it is playtime with feathers together. I have to say that he is a dog trapped in a cats' body.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The main three questions I suggest to think about are listed as below,

1) What are my goals in taking private lessons? (A higher grade, understanding a difficult concept, getting organized, homework help etc.)

2) Am I going to be committed to my roadmap schedule without interrruption?

3) What kind of tutor do I want to take lessons from? What should be his/her personality for me to be comfortable with? (Friendly, funny, serious, talkative etc.)

Details

If I will meet my student once a week, my rate is $32.50/HR, however, if I meet my students every other day, for example M-W-F for 1 hour each (3+ hrs) the hourly rate is discounted to $25/HR.
