About Joseph
Math! I love it and I enjoy helping others learn to love it (or at least put up with it). I have helped kids and students in all sorts of situations, and no matter what the circumstance is, it's great to see understanding dawn on each individual. I am a very adaptive teacher; I find the method that works for each person and guide them thorugh each step with a kind, patient attitutde.
I have been tutoring for over 11 years. I was the head math lab tutor at BYU for 2 years and loved every minute of it. I tutored all sorts of classes at BYU ranging from algebra and trig to differential equations and multivariable calculus. I even taught calculus and finite mathematics courses during my time there.Outside of BYU, I spent countless hours driving all over Utah Valley and even Salt Lake Valley visiting homes for tutoring appointments. During Covid-19, I have also spent countless hours doing online tutoring.
In high school, I was math student of the year for our graduating class. I was also calculus bee champ, and placed in the top 3 (meaning I was 3rd, haha) at BYU's intermountain integration bee. While acting as head tutor for BYU, I certified with the College Reading & Learning Association as a beginner, intermediate, and advanced tutor. I've spent countless hours certifying and learning to work with a wide range of students. I have a 99% success rate in helping students turn their scores around and achieving the grades they want.
