About Rocio
I have 6 years of teaching experience and am certified to teach Mathematics in New York (7-12) and New Jersey (K-12). I have a B.S. in Mathematics from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, an M.A in Mathematics Education 7-12 from City College and an M.A.as an Educational Technology Specialist from Teachers College, Columbia University. I currently work as a supervisor at the Tutoring and Learning Center, Columbia University, where I supervise and train college-aged tutors to tutor geometry to local high school students. Because of my work at Columbia, I cannot work with any students who attend Columbia Secondary School or A. Philip Randolph High School.
I love seeing the aha moment of understanding in students. Many students don't like math, and I didn't when I was younger. I love showing students that math isn't that bad at all, it's much easier than the education system makes it.
