About Crystal

I started as a student who couln't understand math, but after getting an inspirational tutor at age 13, I found my interest in the subject and graduated with a math minor from college. I enjoy teaching and sharing with others how I found joy in the subject.

Math learning shouldn't be boring, it could be interesting and fun, and trust me, there is a method to the madness.

I have tutored math since middle school, I have taught middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students.

Education: MS in Finance (Boston College); BS in Finance, minor in Mathematics (Tulane Universty)

SAT Math: 800 (perfect score)

Teaching has always been something I enjoy. Ever since elementary school, my friends often tell me that I'd be a great teacher. It's a hobby of mine and I love to see students succeed. My teaching sessions often go beyond the subject. I like to discuss with student their life goals and what they'd like to achieve in the future.

1. I have 8 years of tutoring experience, from middle school to college. I have taught and can teach in both Mandarin Chinese and English.

2. I have a MS in Finance, BS in Finance and math minor from college. I have won multiple awards during high school math meets from SC. I also led our high school math team to win 4 state awards in 2 years.

3. I currently run a home based consulting business where i communicate with clients on a daily basis.

About the lesson

1. I would meet with the student and the parent first to get to know each other.

2. I would discuss what the students are interested in and what they stuggle the most with at school.

3. I would identify teaching goals with parents and track those goals over time.

4. I would dicuss the times to meet and pricing.

5. I would conduct monthly reviews with the parents and students to see how they like the process/classes and what they'd like to see more of.

I have worked with high school students and college students in the US. I have also taught middle schoolers in China.
