About Shavonti

My tutroing services comes with a geniune mentoring goal as well. I not only want my students to succeed academically but professionally and socially as well.

I love being able to learn with my students. I enjoy seeing them go from not understanding the material, to explaining the correct steps to me with confidence.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine, but I wasn't sure if i wanted to make it a career. Now that I have gained five years of engineering experience, I am ready to get back to my passion of working with students. 



I am currently a distribution engineer for a local power company. So I deal with numbers and calculations all the time. I have also been working with kids for years, helping them design mini generators, windmills, gumdrop doms, mini transmission towers, and making lemon batteries  just to name a few.

My typical process for working with a new student is to first get to know them. I  learn which subjects they enjoy most in school, and which the least. I also ask what do they want to be when they grow up, so that I can try to tie that into the subjects that they are struggling with. 



I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school children. All have come from different economical backgroudns as well. 



A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Quesstion number one, should be "Am I following the process?", question two should be, "If I am, what is different about this question?" and I think question three should be, " Have I tried to complete the question all the way through?"
