About Haya
Hi! My name is Haya and I’m a freshmen in college, studying computer science and cybersecurity. I just graduated with honors from one of the most competitive and academically renowned schools in the country, and am looking to tutor in some of my favorite subjects over the summer.
I am exceptional in math & applied math subjects, and have test scores in the top 1% nationally for the SAT and ACT. I excelled in AP Computer Science and Honors Advanced Data Structures and Algorithms (formerly AP CSB), so I can confidently tutor in introductory Java. I have lots of experience with highschool computer science competitions, and was my high school's cybersecurity team captain. We recently ranked in the top 7% of Girls Go Cyberstart's national competition, and I have been a top 10 scorer in the state of Texas for this competition.
I’m good with all kinds of students, especially visual learners and students who like to learn hands on or by example. I believe in learning the material, not memorizing and moving on! Under my tutelage students will learn both about the subject and study skills to comtinue their success in the future.
I love teaching my favorite subjects to other people! Meeting new people and learning about new perspectives on these subjects allows me to grow as a person. Tutoring also helps me stay sharp with my educational foundation!
I just graduated high school, so a lot of these topics are still fresh for me. I excelled in all my schoolwork up until now so I am confident I can relay it to my students efficiently. I have tutored professionally for 1 year now, but I have been a teacher for my siblings, cousins, and friends for around 10 years now. I am the go to person for tutoring because I know how to connect with students and can adapt to their learning styles.

First, I like to discuss the subject and what their expectations are from me. Usually students are either working ahead or supplementing what is already taught in their classes. If they are working ahead, we develope a schedule of all the topics to cover based on their school's requirements. If they are looking to supplement their schoolwork, I will base lessons off their class calendar and either research lessons or give them extra practice material depending on what they need.

Haya tutored me in physics last year. It was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken and she really helped me understand the topics in depth so I could excel in the class. Haya is a phenomenal tutor because she never made me feel bad for making mistakes or not understanding a concept; instead she would take the time to teach me through diagrams, drawings, etc which was amazing because I'm a visual learner. Her willingness to go above and beyond is the reason why I was able to succeed last year!

My pricing is negotiable, but based off the subject it will range from $30-$50 an hour. I do quick calls for $0.50 per minute if a student needs help outside of our scheduled sessions.
