About Evan
I offer specialized, one-on-one tutoring that tailors specifically to the needs of my students.
I have previous tutoring experience at the high school level, and experience and understanding ranging from AP and IB tests to college-level Calculus.
I am also currently an instructor for Coding With Kids, focusing on Game Development in Scratch, Roblox, and Minecraft Server modding.
I have a lifelong passion for learning in a variety of subjects, and I hope to pass that on to my students!
I started teaching when I first became a tutor in high school; since then, I have gone on to teach various different subjects and through different means (experiential learning, after school programs) during a Peace Corps Service, and to this day, I teach Computer Programming and problem-solving for Coding With Kids.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Agriculture, and have retained a keen fascination and enjoyment of Mathematics, and various other subjects.
I also have experience as a high school tutor in Mathematics, Physics, English, and History.
I have been teaching for Coding with Kids for about 4 months, and have completed all the required trainings for the State of Oregon to hold an after school class, including diversity and inclusion training, as well as classroom safety training.

The first session will be a general discussion about the student's level of knowledge, what they are having trouble with, what they would like to achieve by the end of their tutoring sessions.
I have worked with students from many backgrounds; from high school AP Calculus students, to primary school English students in Nepal, and elementary school students learning Computer Programming.
I would advise them to have a conversation first with the teacher, and see if it is someone that they get along with, and feel will listen to their concerns. It is important to have a teacher who knows how to listen properly to ensure a student understands properly.

I generally charge $40 per session. The first session will be considered a trial session, and will be charged 50% off. I am also open to discussing reductions based on income/situation; Please feel free to ask.
