About Loren
I have always had a passion for seeing students set and achieve goals. I have been working with students for over a decade.
I am currently a third grade teacher. I am entering my 5th year as a professional educator. I have a Masters in Teaching from George Fox University.

I like to get a great understanding of a student's goals before getting too far. This helps me know what success will look like. From there I like to provide my students with a short assessment to help me understand their current levels and better identify any gaps. Then I take this data and create customizeable lessons.
For a math student this would include a short assessment that would be revisited about once a month to chart growth.
For a reading student this would include a benchmark reading assessment to target reading comprehension levels and also phonological awareness.
Being a classroom teacher I have worked with a wide variety of students. I have worked with both striving and thriving students. I have worked with quiet students who are shy and want to remain invisible. I have worked with high energy students who appear to be driven by a motor. I have worked with talented and gifted studnts to push them a bit further and prevent them from being bored.
