I start by getting to know the students math abilities and learning styles. I like to build a relationship with my students so they feel comfortable advocating for them self's.
I have worked with students in all income brackets. I also spent a year teaching at a predominantly Spanish speaking school and another year teaching mathematics abroad in Thailand.
Ask questions and remember recognizing mistakes means growth.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What type of learning styles do you use? Are you available to use multiple strategies to understand concepts? Are you positive and supportive? Will you help me understand material if I am struggling and how?
