About Daniel
Math tutoring helped me unlock my potential, and realize my dream of graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. I would dearly love the chance to help others with their education and help them realize their dreams.
I tutored when I was in college, and found that I love seeing the "Eureka!" moment students have when they finally understand the solution to a problem.

Instead of solving problems for students, and saying "It's done like this", I like to prepare problems ahead of time, and guide the student through solving the problem. The student then solves the problem, completely of their own accord, guided by pointed questions and comments. I tutored my younger sister in Calc1, and found that this approach helped her retention of the material.
Doing a small amount of work before the lesson, even just identifying the specific topics you want to learn, may help you use money more effectively. This lets the teacher prepare materials and problems (and their solutions) ahead of time. This is a more effective use of the student's time and a more effective use of money.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should communicate what concepts they want to work on at least one day before a lesson, I will then make a lesson plan to use the allotted time to learn as many of the concepts as fast as possible while maintaining a high level of student comprehension.

Details
For online tutoring I will charge $30/hour, with half off ($15/hour) for the first lesson.
For in-person tutoring I will charge as above, but with a flat addition of $10 due to travel costs.
The first lesson discount applies only if the lesson is one hour or shorter, if the first lesson is longer, we can discuss the pricing.
If the time is up but I am still explaining a concept, I may continue until I feel I have finished, at no additional charge.
