About Nicholas

My name is Nick and I have 12+ years of experience, tutoring, high school, and college level math and physics. I have worked for my local school districts high school tutoring program as well as my local community college. And after getting my degree in aplied mathematics I decided to do private tutoring whenever I can. I have experience tutoring every type of student, from those with learning disabilities, to "A" students who just want to keep up the good work. If you're local, I can do at home tutoring, or if you're not local, I can offer remote tutoring via zoom.

My first experience was being offered to tutor my peers at Dutchess Community College when I was a student. DCC had a fantastic program that hired students Who did very well in previous classes to tutor other students The following semester. After graduating from Dutchess Community College I never stopped tutoring.

I have a decade plus experience tutoring students in mathematics from high school to college level. All throughout my college years of getting a bachelors in Applied mathematics I was a student tutor for dutchess Community College. After my degree I returned to DCC to run the day-to-day operations of the colleges tutoring center as well as tutor college students during down time. Meanwhile I have been doing private tutoring during afternoons/evenings.

About the lesson

For several years I worked for Hyde Park school district tutoring all sorts of students. Those with learning/physical disabilities as well as students who were suspended. Being dyslexic and having learning disabilities myself I have taking everything I've learned about getting through school and try passing along lessons I have learned.

Mathematics is not hard to learn. Most students underestimate their capabilities. Unfortunately the rapid pace school must go in order to fulfill state testing makes things difficult. The job as a Tutor is to go back and refine your understanding. With years of experience I know how to explain things in greater detail that make more sense that a teacher or professor does not have time to do. The best part of mathematics is that there is so many different approaches to a problem. If one approach doesn't make sense I can show you another that will. As the student you still have to put in the work to study but I can be there to assist and make sure you are on the right path to success.
