About Michael

Having a BA Mathematics and several years of tutoring & teaching experience under my belt, I feel that I'm highly qualified to provide excellent services.

I love seeing the moment when a tough concept finally starts to make sense for a student. I struggled with math in middle school and early high school, so I've felt the frustration of not understanding the subject even when you try to.

I have a bachelors degree in Mathematics, 2 years of in-classroom instruction experience teaching math, and 5+ years experience in tutoring Math/Physics.

About the lesson

During our first session, I'll ask you questions about your experience in the subject(s) you would like tutoring in -- particularly about which areas are most challenging for you. Then, we'll try out practice problems in some of these areas so that I can pinpoint weaknesses, and from there, I'll work with you through your assignments in addition to problems I create/select in order to strengthen those weaker areas.

I've worked mainly with students who struggle in 8th-Grade Math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, Set Theory, Analysis, and more.

Find someone who understands you on a level beyond your academic background; you'll be much happier with a tutor/teacher who can figure out the best ways to help you, and this often requires looking past the subject matter at hand.
