About Kaidan

I love building a relationship with my students, I want to be on their level.

I love seeing the aha moment with my students. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student improve and feel proud.

I have always loved working with children. I also learn best through teaching. To study for exams, I would often lecture my roommates or family members about concepts way out of their comfort zone. It keeps me sharp in my field, and it is so rewarding to help children as well.

I worked in a tutoring center and have been tutoring online for about a year now. While at this job I worked with students from the elementary school level, students looking for SAT prep, and even college students from time to time. I also have a degree in applied mathematics.

About the lesson

I like to get to know them and their interests. Try to get them to let down their walls so they can be honest with me about their struggles. While doing this I like to see where they are at with their current work. I also like to emphasize that the students are not stupid for needing help with math. Many students struggle with the field, and everyone stuggles with something.

I have worked with all types. Elementary students learning basic multiplication and division, middle schoolers learning algebra and geometry, high school students in calculus and SAT prep, and on ocassion college students.

Try to find someone who is social. The best mathematician will be useless to you if you cannot find a way to connect with them. You want someone who can respect your position and your intelligence, someone you feel comfortable being vulnerable around.

I saw my brother appear in a musical for the first time in his life. His talent and performance was astonishing, and unlike anything I've ever seen from him. I was so incredibly proud of what he was able to accomplish.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A student should always try with what is given. A true honest try, after that then they should feel no hesistation when going to a teacher. Teachers are there to help you, but they cannot do that if they don't know whats wrong. An attempt with work gives the teacher a starting point to then help you with your problem
