About Matthew
I'm a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a lot of experience in critical thinking and problem solving. I think that math can seem daunting to a lot of people, but I like to think of it as a puzzle or a brain teaser. We have all the information we need, we just need the right push to solve it!

I really try to understand the student - their background, what they're good at, and what they're working on improving. I like to take a holistic approach and really help them understand why exactly certain concepts might not be clear to them (yet). Seeing students improve is a huge reason why love to tutor - every deserves a chance for success!
I'm a recent mechancial engineering grad from Stevens Institute of Technology. In my studies I would take charge of study groups and help my peers solve problems and work through them together.

Sit down with them and really grasp the concepts they grasp and which they could use a little help on. Ensuring they understand the foundation of the course in the most important step! When we figure that out we work with examples, we practice, and most importantly talk through the concepts. This is so important as it helps us have a collaborative approach on solving problems instead of a one-on-one lecture style of teaching.
