About Ashlyn

I am a full time student at Sam Houston State University. I am working towards my associates in Chemistry with a minor of mathematics. After I get my associates degree I will be attending another college to get my doctorate in chemical engineering. All through high school I stayed after school hours to help tutor my fellow classmates in mathematics. If I was not becoming a chemical engineer I would have become an educator in mathematics for high school or a preschool teacher. I absolutely love helping people who struggle. I love to conversate with people and help them feel confident in what they are working on. I look forward to helping students with their mathematical needs!

I got started tutoring when I was in high school and I stayed after school hours in order to help my teachers tutor students who were struggling in the class. I did that for 2 years at my high school and I truly enjoyed it. I was also in a childcare class where the students in the class got to take care of the staff kids during the class period. We would lesson plan, teach them the lessons, play, and feed them throughout the day. I worked with 14 preschoolers all ages 3-5 years old.

I am a mathematics minor and chemistry major at Sam Houston State University. I was in a high school club called the Texas Association of Future Educators and my senior year of high school I was elected President of the club.

About the lesson

Make sure they are comfortable with me helping them out. I understand that students have different learning styles and abilities and I try to accommodate for that to the best of my ability. I introduce myself and let them know that I am here to help and not judge or look down on them for asking for help! I encourage students to ask for help because in the long run it is very beneficial!

I have worked with high schoolers of all levels and preschoolers ages 3-5 years old.

Look for someone who enjoys their job and has a positive attitude. Someone who actually understands the topic needing to be taught. Someone who is friendly and patient with their students because everyone has their ways of learning.

Helping my friend, who also attends Sam Houston State University understand the basics of calculus and the basics of physics.

My standard pricing details are $15-$20 every hour a session is. If the session does not last and hour I am asking for $20 for the entire session.
