About Lisa
I have extensive tutoring experience with students of all ages and skill levels, particularly in math and test preparation. I have been tutoring for over 7 years including middle school level math, algebra, geometry, calculus, and beyond. I have also helped middle school students with homework and study skills and prepared over 15 students for the SAT/ACT
I've always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with other people - that moment when the student finally grasps a new concept is why I tutor.
I have an undergraduate degree in bioengineering and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. I use many of these middle/high school math topics every day at work and do my best to emphasize the real world uses of these math skills.q

First I try to understand what issues the student is having and then I address these issues by teaching the topic again and doing example problems together. Finally, I assign the student further questions to do on their own before our next session.
