About Brooke
I have a very personalized approach. Not every student is the same, so not every teaching method will be the same. I have been tutoring for over 5 years and have discovered that the majority of a student's issues stem from a lack of confidence. If I can assist in the growth of that confidence, it is likely that he or she will learn to succeed in and out of the classroom without the aid of a tutor.
When I was in highschool, I volunteered to tutor the football players at my school. I was an athlete throughout highschool, enabling me to understand the difficulty of being a student athlete. Once I started teaching, I didn't want to stop!
I have an extensive background in mathematics. I will have a BS in Applied Mathematics and Statitics this May. My course work has varied from all levels of Calculus to Probability theory. I also have experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant.

When first working with a student, I like to access where their deficiancies stem from. After getting to know the student, it becomes obvious what kind of learner he or she is. For example, many of my younger students are visual learners. To help aid their learning process, I like to draw examples. For my older students, I like to relate what they are learning to things that he or she likes. This allows the math problem to become both applicable and relatable in their eyes.

Details
For my online sessions, I charge a standard rate of $25 an hour. For any sessions where I will be traveling, that rate will increase $1.25 for every 5 miles. For example, if you live 10 miles away, I will charge you $30 an hour. That is because I will travel 20 miles(there and back).
