About Gabriel
We are a traditional Japanese sanctioned dojo, from Okinawan. Our style is Soryu, which is a relatively newer system that is an attempt to bring back the old methods of training. It's a fair balance of hand and feet strokes, blocks, grabs, breaks and take downs. As well as a never seen before balance between the three modes of karate practice: kata, kumite and Conditioning.
My passion is to unlock the best out of every student and to teach them the joys of teaching, performance or improvement.
I started karate in 98 under jesse Lussier, achieved black belt under him in 2005, the 3rd degree in 2008. I had also earned a 2nd degree black belt in tae kwon do in Oklahoma under Brian Bryan. In 2015 I achieved 3rd degree black belt in Japanese Soryu.
I have been a certified personal trainer (AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NASM) since 2009 and a licensed massage therapist since February of 2021.
