About KaraLee
My approach:
I enjoy helping children develop their talents, skills, and confidence through music. I have a degree in Elementary Education so I understand that all children learn at their own pace and I teach with a flexibly minded approach. I teach using traditional music methods. I think learning should be fun so I incorporate a lot of hands on games to teach rhythm and note fluency. I am also a strong believer in teaching my students how to take ownership of their home practice and help guide them as they set progress goals.
My experience:
I grew up playing the piano and violin. As a violinist I played in the Albuquerque NM Youth Symphony and made Allstate 2 years. As an adult I have participated in small group ensembles, partipated in the Champaign-Urbana Symphony and continue to perform at church functions. I am currently working with a service based singing group called Friends in Harmony where we perform at nursing homes.
I have enjoyed teaching my own 4 children piano and violin lessons. I love when homes are filled with music!

KaraLee is a wonderful teacher for my 6-yr old son! In just a few months, he has gone from no music experience, to reading and playing songs from sight. She is great at establishing the fundamentals in a fun way, and moving the lessons at the right pace for him. He doesn't get bored! She is great with kids :)
KaraLee is passionate about both music and teaching. She approaches each student according to their strengths and evaluates ways to help them improve and achieve individual goals. We've been with KaraLee Anderson Music Studio for over two years now, and I feel my daughter has received training and encouragement specific to her needs. We love it and recommend it for all levels of musicians!
Kara Lee is a very knowledgeable musician. She is great with kids. My daughter started loosing interest in her school instruction and Kara Lee was able to keep her intrerest in violin by giving her more challenging material to push her. Kara Lee has been a great teacher!
