Welcome to Science Tutoring!

Science Tutoring is here to help you achieve your goals in Science. If you feel you are struggling and are stressed out, don't! There are many ways to achieve your goals in even the most difficult situations.

I have been teaching varied Science classes in New York, specifially in New York City and Long Island, since 2009 and am here to help you with your Science needs.

I hold a Master Degree in Education for General Education and Special Education Grades 1-9.

I enjoy the moment that a student understands a new concept and they have that "ah ha!" moment of clarity. That makes my job worth it.

I have always had a passion for teaching. I started out as a Teacher Assistant in a Special Education classroom. In that setting I felt that I was able to really help students achieve their goals. After this, I began teaching Special Education Science in a Middle School setting. From there I have moved to a High School Special Education Science classroom setting. I have varied experience with many different types of Science.

I have been teaching varied Science courses since 2012 in New York. This includes 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade Science courses.

About the lesson

When working with new students, I like to get to know the student first and ask a few general questions about how they feel about school and Science in general.

Then we will get into more detail on how they are doing in their current Science class situation and see where they feel they are struggling most.

We will map out a plan to practice, review, and find ways to learn new material.

I have worked with many different types of students. I have worked with General Education, Special Education and English as a New Language Students.

My advice would be, if you are feeling stressed, don't. There are many different approaches you can take to learning content material. Learning is not a one size fits all model. Each person is different and unique and may require a unique strategy to learn.

I enjoy teaching and using manipulatives within the classroom. I enjoy having my students learn in ways that are outside of the box. Many of my lessons strive to include these types of strategies that require students to use content knoweldge but in ways that may be a little different from what is typically seen in a classroom.

The pricing system depends on the Science content that is being reviewed. Sessions that are geared toward Regents classes will be more than sessions that are for general Science courses with a final at the end of the year.
