About Cassie
For my doctorate, I am required to be a teaching assistant in one course. During the third year of my program, I took a Seminar in Education course that made me very excited about teaching others and realized there was a true science behind teaching; pedagogy.
I have a well-developed teaching portfolio and philosophy that focuses on sparking joy within the student for learning.
I am currently completing my doctorate in occupational therapy. I have been a teachers assistant for a graduate level anatomy course. To complete my doctorate, I am helping develop materials for a graduate level neuroscience course and a flipped classroom independent study in psycholog, sociology, and development of chidlren.
I have years of training in editing scientific research papers and have completed my own research. I am able to educate students on how to access up to date literature on a given topic to propel their learning.

Determine what they are having difficulty with in their specific course, discover their learning style, and review the current topics in the course to tailor my tutoring to what is required of them. I like to make the student excited about the course and help them find joy in what they are learning by providing analogies and examples that relate to the real world or topics they already enjoy.
My experience is mainly with graduate level students. But after years of caring for school aged children, I have the abilities to alter my tutoring style based on the age and type of learner the student may be.
While TA'ing for the graduate level anatomy course, I was particularly proud of a select few students who contacted me for advice on studying and tutoring them. Their first exam results were in the C to D range. After discussion with me, they began implementing study tips that I gave them and were able to complete the course with A's.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should definitely show the teaching how they have been studying or reviewing. This allows the teacher to determine what methods the student is currently using and can help them implement different methods.
Being able to articulate specific topics within the course that are troubling, may help the teacher to pinpoint where the breakdown is occurring in their communication, teaching materials, or help them determine a different method for different learners.

Details
I charge an hourly rate of $20 for an undergraduate or graduate level tutoring. High school or middle school sciences and math are $15/hour.
Editing and thoughtfully reviewing a scientific paper and reviewing the pertinent literature for accuracy is $20.
