About Kim
I currently provide instruction in basic jewelry craft. This includes, bead stringing (I do not do bead weaving), basic wire wrapping, hammered textures, metal forming, metal cutting and piercing, and soldering.
Advanced classes include, jewelry design with bezels and prong set gems, traditional and abstract design principles, patinas, and kembo (fusing gold leaf to .999 silver).
During these classes, I provide all safety precautions that should be followed by the student.
If you have an interest in a particular style of jewlery, I can create a class based on your interests. Material costs will vary by the type of class requested.
I love to create jewelry that expresses the character of the wearer.
I created my company, Divergence Design in 2007, after many unhappy years in corporate America. I studied metal arts and with lots of practice, gained the skills I needed to create and sell full-time.

I like to have an initial consultation via phone to determine interest of the students(s). I then create a class based on his/her/their interests.
The class is taught live via Zoom. The class is paid via PayPal.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It helps when a student has a specific area of jewelry craft they wish to study. For example, do you want to learn how to make a textured metal cuff bracelet? Or do you want to learn how design with beads? Do you have a photo of something you want to make?
Also, if you have a particular style in mind, i.e., traditional, minimal, abstract, etc. please let me know in the initial consultation.
