About Teri
I love teaching art to beginner and intermediate artists! I have created a simple "Listen, look and learn" process of teaching that breaks down the lesson into simple steps. Learning is easier when we just focus on the next few strokes and build a painting on step at a time.
I was lucky enough to learn how to teach by getting a job as an assistant workshop coordinator in the late 90's. I helped assist over 20 workshops in a three year period and learned from the "pros".
In 2005 I started a sailing adventure in the Caribbean based in St. Thomas, USVI and taught up and down the Caribbean, introducing both children and adults to watercolors.
I moved to the mountains of North Carolina in 2012 and began my adventure there, teaching watercolors, alcohol inks and mixed media classes at my small shop in Brasstown NC, at John CCampbell Folk School and in other local venues.
in 2020 I built a studio at my house and have been teaching small groups and individuals in my home space since then!
