I am a firm believer that everyone has the abilities to become a master in what they so choose. Beside dedication of time and energy, the difficulties can be many. My job as a teacher is to adapt my teaching methods to the learning methods of the student.

To change the mind's eye of the student, to help them achieve what their form of translation is from mind to matter, is an end goal; whether is is realism or abstraction, I can be a guide on that path

Motivation, constructive criticism, technical teaching and adaptation to help to student achieve progress is what I can offer.

First and foremost I enjoy the instant satisfaction of producing an image, one that can provoke emotions in human . I enjoy the empowerment it provides, the individuality of style. A healthy vice, a disciplined distraction from other random distractions. Ultimately the satisfaction of Producing something is far greater and longer lasting than Consuming.

My friends and community say I have a knack for being able to translate ideas/processes. The joy of seeing people progress.

I went to art-based school and classes since kindergarten. I always had a sketchbook with me . Went to SF State 2 years for fine art before pursuing an apprenticeship doing fine painting at residences in The City, Tiburon Woodside/Hillsborough areas. Painting is and everyday practice for me, definitely logged my 10,000+ hours. I have started my own altelier as of last year when the pandemic started. I am located in the Trestle Glen neighborhood of Oakland after moving from SF earlier this year.
Teaching is a new experience for me, I would love to pass on my knowledge to others.

About the lesson

Talk with the student and find out goals. What they would like to paint.

First lesson would be in light/dark, color wheel, see how they/you vibe with my style of teaching. Get to know the student in terms of what they enjoy, how they feel, what they would like to paint. Do they/you care for history of the materials at all or just want to keep it simple .

develop a lesson plan after the first lesson.

First and foremost is to keep painting fun, enjoyable. Not overwhelming.

student or artist grade materials are required for my lessons . I can only teach so much about depth and color with cheap mass produced art materials
