About Peggy
I specialize in the Orton -Gillingham methodology. The multi sensory approach I implement to explicitly introduce concepts in a systematic approach of teaching decoding and encoding skills as well as oral reading fluency improvements will all come together to strengthen the skill you or your student have while growing the developing skills in progress. My therapy dog, Charlie is an additional support layer and helps to build confidence in struggling and developing readers.
All students deserve an education and all students learn differently. I teach to the students strengths and with growth mindset, we make gains in areas of weakness. I am certified in OG through the Dyslexia Training Institute and University of San Diego. I am also an advocate and can support your IEP needs as well.
I have been teaching and supporting students for 11 years now. It started as a career and became a passion.
I am a Registered Behavior Therapist, Autism Certified Tutor, Orton- Gillingham trained tutor and a Dyslexia Advocate in training. I have been a tutor for 10 years and work in both the public school and private literacy studio.

I always interview each student and ask them how I can help. Next, we come up with a plan together that is clear and obtainable. In person services will conducted with my certified therapy dog, Charlie if requested. Charlie helps build confidence in learners as he provides comfort and no negitive feedback.
