About Karen

I found out early in my photography career and studies that just because someone knows something doesn't mean they can teach it so others understand.

I began teaching photography fifteen years ago and was determined that my students would really "get it"! I like to talk with my students and figure out where they are on their knowledge journey and come alongside and be a coach.

From a former student -

I was fortunate to take two or three of your classes right after I bought my camera and barely knew how to turn it on! You were very helpful and your classes were great. You are a natural teacher and your workshops will be awesome. I have good memories (and notes) from your classes. I have taken many workshops and classes and won numerous ribbons and been published. Photog is so much fun and rewarding to the spirit. You helped start me on this journey. Best of luck with your vision. Ellen Stevens

I love it when I see the light go on in my students' heads. They have that aha moment and they know that they really understand.

I also get excited by my students' successes and sense they will be destined to be ahead of the pack.

I was asked to be a guest speaker at

Indiana - Purdue University and fell in love with teaching!

I have been a professional photographer for over 30 years and teaching for 15.
