About Kodi

Over ten years of experience and three years of art school. I switched majors in my third year, but have continued to improve my skills as well. In my early career I recieved gold level in scholarships and contests, and my paintings have toured around the country.

About the lesson

Lesson plans will be unique for each student. Since each student has unique interests and experience levels, I will spend the first session getting to know them and how they would like to work. I work in dry media, mixed media, and wet media, and lesson plans also change depending on the desired media by the student. In the first lesson we will also go over any needed materials, as each student will need different materials to work with based on their age, media, and experience/comfort level.

Ask yourself what your end goals are in your own personal art aesthetic. Do you want to paint landscapes? Portraits? Create abstractions or mixed media peices? Each instructor will have their own personal aesthetic and technique, which can bleed into their teaching strategies.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Please consider that visual arts can be quite expensive, especially wet media like acrylic and oils. I can give you a comprehensive list of material requirements, but I will teach the basics by using as few materials as possible to start out. If you have never painted before, consider lessons in watercolor and gouache to begin, as these are great learning tools for more advanced techniques in acrylic and oil. If you have never drawn before then consider taking lessons in pencil art and conte crayon to begin with, as these are great learning tools for more advanced techniques in pastels and marker.
Consider how much time outside of lessons you are willing to commit to. I give assignments and homework to help you grow and learn, and these could potentially take more time outside of a 90 minute instruction.

$30 dollars for a 90 minute photography lesson. I practice digital photography, but would be happy to tutor in classic 35mm film photography as well. I do not tutor in large format film cameras. I do not have a darkroom or access to darkroom. I can tutor in photoshop, but not lightroom.
