About JD
I received my degree in Fine Arts Photography from Ohio University, where I worked in virtually every technology, process and film type. Since then was a photographer with the U.S. Army for four years, a corporate A/V specialist and manager for 10 years, and ran my own agency for 18 years. I have had major photography exhibits every two or three years throughout the USA and on three continents. I specialize in visualizing, lighting, documentary and social commentary images. I also have the majority of my experience in traditional film but now specialize in digital media. My credo is "It's not the equipment but your eye that makes a great image". You can see some of my work in the albums here: (concealed information) and (concealed information)
Whilst diplomacy is my present career, I have always considered myself an artist at heart. After living in and traveling through more than 60 countries, I have probably made more than half a million images, but I still thirst for "My Next Photo". I am interested in ensuring my students understand their vision and goal, and that they are able to achieve these through proper technique and social paradigms.
