About Nick
I'm a freelance digital photographer and videographer based in the Portland, Oregon Area. I have a passion for flying drones and operating cameras in a unique way to share a story. I've been doing freelance work in those fields for over the last 6 years combined and have a very strong understanding of it. I carry an FAA Part 107 Certificate to fly drones for commercial use and have been able to work with major brands such as Hasson Company Realtors, Keller Williams Professionals, Why Racing Events, and more! I'm always willing to help out others who want to grow in their field by sharing knowledge that I've picked up on over the years.
I'm limited for photos I can put up here so to see a more complete series of photos go to my Instagram: @nbrumfield97
It's not about the destination, it's the adventure along the way. Digital Photography and Videography has allowed me to go to some really beautiful locations in the Northwest and meet some amazing people along the way. Whenever I'm taking pictures, videos, flying drones, etc. I never think about the money because it's something that I'm truly passionate about. The fact that I can turn my passion into a living is really an unreal feeling!
I started with helping out my friends who had an interest in photography and videography, from there it was word of mouth and I started charging other people if they wanted to know about my tips and tricks.
Right now, I'm currently attending Community College to transfer to a four-year college that will get me a Bachelor's degree in digital film and video production. However, before I decided to go to college to push my knowledge further, I taught myself over time how to get better with photography by trial and error. Over the course of 3-4 years, I finally discovered what it takes to develop amazing content and I'm always finding new ways to stand out from the crowd.

I first like to find out a little bit of who they are and what they wish to get out of what they are looking to do. Then I'll ask them what they can do already and what they want to learn and I'll build off of that!
I've mainly worked with beginners who are just starting with what gear to buy to those who are in it a little bit and have more to figure out.
Only hire the ones who know what they are talking about. If you look at their portfolio and like the work that they are putting out, it shows that they know what they are doing and you are more likely to get something out of it.
Helping a friend out who just bought herself a beginner level camera and she didn't know how to the settings work. So we went on a photo shoot in the Downtown, Portland area so I can better show her how her camera settings worked.

For lessons I would charge by the hour since most lessons that I've given in the past have gone for multiple hours. My typical rate is $75-100 per hour depending upon the person's skills level.
